Una calle en Casares Painting Mixed media on Paper

This is one of a trail of paintings on Casares and a departure from my normal work. Its late in the afternoon on the narrow deserted streets, everyone is in siesta for me its cool in the shade and hot, very hot in the sun.

My thoughts are still the same as my previous blogs on Casares and Pueblo...the human and physical history of a place which sits high on an exposed ridge open to Atlantic and Mediterranean winds and whose population wrestles an existence from hard rock and heat and which has been a constant scene of social change, maybe this is reflected in the artwork.
