Vincent Van Gogh Drawings
"In spite of everything I shall rise again: I will take up my pencil, which I have forsaken in my great discouragement, and I will go on with my drawing."
Vincent van Gogh
Letter 136
24 September 1880
Garden with flowers Arles see http://www.vggallery.com/drawings/main_az.htm for more great graphics of Vincents work. The use of the pencil and brush mark is everything giving both a sense of direction and a representation of a plane and form. Sometimes with great artists you get so used to seeing their work that you tend not to look and that ,makes this exhibition worth a visit. I am in awe of this artist.
