Lancashires Ribble and Hodder revisited, Original paintings by Rob Miller
The Ribble watershed re visited in the new studio which is great!
Sometimes its great to revisit old half finished work and see whether or not a year or so away from it has brought a new vision, new techniques or a new awareness. the work in question is one of Whitewell "d'un peu de soliel" which is a favourite line of mine taken from a Jaccottet poem. The scene is a typical English one clouds full of passion push each other across the moors in a never ending Wagner chorus and on the ground the light of the sun flashes across the grasses and trees of the Queens Lancashire estate by the Hodder. The work on the bench are watercolours and mixed media preparations for new work around Sawley on a bright summers day.
